Inspiration

Our trio started simply as a fan club of 1st years swooning over Cedric Diggory. Our fourth year was the reinstatement of the Triwizard Tournament. We were thrilled when Cedric Diggory was chosen by the Goblet of Fire. We were his number one fans (despite what Cho might claim). His performances in the first and second tasks were nothing but spectacular. However, it is the end of the third task that none of us will ever be able to wipe from our mind. We spent much of the next year in denial of what we had seen - Harry Potter clutching the dead body of Cedric. Professor Dumbledore's words still ring clearly in our minds.

"Today we acknowledge a really terrible loss. Cedric Diggory was as you all know, exceptionally hard working, infinitely fair-minded and most importantly a fierce, fierce friend. Now I think therefore you have the right to know exactly how he died. You see, Cedric Diggory was murdered by Lord Voldemort. The Ministry of Magic does not wish me to tell you this, but not to do so I think would be an insult to his memory."

Along with the denial, we spent much of our time researching to find out if there was anyway to bring Cedric back as a Hogwarts ghost. Growing desperate, we even drew straws to ask Hermione. She was a bit furious with us. I remember her screaming something about how inconsiderate we were to selfishly want to bring the dead back from their rest and that any well read wizard should know that. But, that's a ramble for another day. Our admiration for Cedric led to our love of all things ghostly, thus, Ghost Chasers was born. You'd be amazed the songs you can come up with while you should be studying.
